Atlantic Immigration Program

Home Atlantic Immigration Program

The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) is a federal immigration program to assist employers in recruiting qualified foreign workers and graduates for labor needs. Employers who wish to recruit skilled immigrants through the Atlantic Immigration Program must submit an application to a provincial(s) office in order to receive a designation. Designated employers must prove they are capable of providing support for settlement of workers hired through the Atlantic Immigration Program.

The employer must show they are on good terms with any provincial regulatory authority. Employers that are located in more than one province will need to obtain separate registrations in each province. Once the locations are designated, foreign workers(s) identified by an employer may file an application for permanent residence directly with the Department of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship of Canada.

Other Ocean Group Canada Limited is another corporation benefiting from hiring immigrants. To develop this sector, programs like the Atlantic Growth Strategy, as well as a related pilot program, the Atlantic Immigration, are being implemented to bring skilled newcomers.

A 2015 graduation transcript from Carleton University, in Ottawa, shows Jose Assis Giammaria graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, focusing on International Relations, with a minor in communications studies.
